Play date with Brody

Today we met my college roomate Emily and her husband Justin and their little boy Brody at Ya Ya's Island. Brody will the four in July. Nate and Brody are as opposite as you can get. Brody is very quite and studies everything and is very reserved and cautious. Nate on the other hand is very loud and runs full force at everything he does. They had fun together though.

We thought that the parents could get into everything with the kids but quickly found out that you could not. You can only get into one thing with the kids which is for big kids and adults. We took Nate on it twice and that was all me and daddy could handle. We were all exhausted when we left :)

First Haircut!

Today we took Nate to Mastercuts for his first haircut! It broke my heart :) I hated to see his baby curls to go. Brad said that it was definatly time. He had been wanting to get Nate's hair cut for a while and today he said that I was going to be sad if we cut it today or when he was five. So, off we went to the beauty shop. When we got there, there was a little boy ahead of Nate that was crying hysterically. But, not just crying but yelling "mommy." I started sweating and told Brad that if Nate did that we were out of there. Luckily, Nate didn't make a peep. He just sat in the chair like a big boy! They put a cape on his that had zoo animals on it so of course he liked that. The only thing that he didn't like was when the hair would get on his hands :)

The lady was very nice and saved some curls for me. After they were finished and I told some "after" pics I started crying because he looks like such a big boy now. The lady started picking hair up off the floor and putting it in the bag. Brad said that I had scared people again! All night, Nate has ran his hands through his hair. It still looks like it will curl and I have told Brad that we will not cut it again until I say we can!

Happy Valentine's Day

Today is the day of love. So, what romantic place did Brad and I go? We took Nate to the racoon show at the Refuge Center! He had so much fun. There were two HUGE racoons there. Nate went right up to the fence and leaned over so he could look at them better. He even blew them kisses! After the show they had arts and crafts inside. Nate made a racoon mask, colored a racoon and made a racoon out of hearts. He had so much fun. I had some really cute pics but I accidently deleted them off my camera. Tonight, Nana and Pap came over and we all went to eat Mexican. Of course, Nate ate very well. Mexican, our favorite!

Got our cloth diapers

I wanted to get some cloth diapers to try out. The came in today. I got three differnt brands to try. They are really cute on Nate and his pants finally fit because they are "fluffier" than regular diapers. Nate seems to like them. I am going to order more and hopefully only have to use disposibles at daycare. We got the blue one in the picture and also got a red one and a cow print one. They are so easy to use and so cute!

My first really late night at work

Tonight I had to work really late. I didn't get home until 11:45 pm. I was so worried about Nate. I keep thinking that he was probably screaming for me and would not go to sleep. I called Brad crying several times! When I got home Nate and Daddy were asleep in the recliner. Brad said that Nate did really well. He said that he went right to sleep and then woke up around 10:30 looking for me and crying. He said that he fell back to sleep when he started holding him though. I woke him up so he would know that I was home. He slept on top of me the rest of the night :)

Big Boy Bed!

Tonight Nate would not go to sleep for me. Lately he lays down with me and then gets up and gets his daddy to lay in the big boy bed for a little while. Usually he lays in there and gets tired and then is ready to come to our bed to go to sleep. Tonight he laid in his bed and fell asleep in two minutes! I couldn't believe it and of course, I cried. He is getting so big so fast! I checked on his a hundred times. At 10:40 I heard a thump (but no cry). I went in there and he had fallen out of the bed but he did not wake up. I should have put him back in his bed but I brought him into mine :) I can only take so much big boy stuff in one day!
